Racial Abilities
Attribute Changes: +2 Charisma, +2 Intelligence
Elfsight: A Searethan Elf has high levels of visual acuity. Her racial bonus on Search and Spot checks is +2.
Low
Light Vision: A Searethan Elf can see twice as far as a human in poorly
lit conditions such as at night, in torch or firelight, or the like.
Merdian
Perception: A Searethan Elf can determine the Meridian density in his
line of sight as a Free Action. His attunement to the Meridians is such
that he gains a +4 to Knowledge (Arcana) checks to predict the length
until the next natural change in Meridian patterns locally as well as
to determine the severity of the incoming change. This later capability
may only be used within 1 hour of an oncoming change. A Searethan Elf
instantly knows if he has entered a Null Magic Zone or a Grand
Conjuction Nexus without having to check. A Searethan Elf can locate
Major Ley Lnes within a region with greater ease, gaining a +4 to his
Knowledge (Arcana) roll to locate such lines.
Reverie: A
Searethan Elf does not need to rest as conventional humans do, simply
sitting and meditating. 4 hours in Reverie is as good as a full night's
rest to a Searethan Elf, for the purposes of healing and spell
recovery. During Reverie, an Elf wanders through his or her memories,
but is not as unaware as a sleeping human would be, and thus recieves
no modifiers to Listen checks and only a -2 modifier to Spot checks.
Elven
Age Skills: For every 20 years of age, a Searethan Elf gains a free
skill point which can be spent on: Perform, Profession, Knowledge,
Appraise, Craft, or Decipher Script. These are all considered class
skills for a Searethan Elf, regardless of their actual class.
Natural
Immortality: A Searethan Elf's final age category has no upper age
bound. Effectively, if events do not conspire to kill a Searethan Elf,
they will live forever. In practical fact, many choose to depart the
lands of Kaladorn when they feel they have outlived too many friends,
seen all their is to see of the world, or if they find other lands to
explore (such as passing through a gate from Kaladorn to some other
realm). Voluntary self-controlled euthanasia is not unheard of, nor is
it disdained or hindered. A Searethan Elf has the right to choose when
and how he leaves the world if he wishes.
